What benefits does the inspection module offer Aviko?
Aviko has achieved a 50% time reduction on conducting inspections and audits by using the Inspection Software. The Corporate QA-QC Manager at Aviko, explains:
"Running the audit with an iPad with integrated camera and an on-screen inspection list facilitates efficient execution of inspections and audits. The synchronization between the iPad and the online inspection module automatically generates a report with, in addition to a full report of individual inspection points, a summary of the audit with a listing of deviations and photos. Previously, this reporting was a rather time-consuming task and a separate system was used to follow up on action points from internal audits. Moreover, situations where deviations are recorded with pen, paper and a loose camera in hand are a thing of the past."
Deviations and actions resulting from the inspections and audits are displayed in the central overviews in the application. "The actions and the status of the actions are thus insightful for stakeholders from all locations, which also helps to improve the quality of handling. In addition, statistics are used as input for annual verification and continuous improvement within the company," says the Corporate QA-QC Manager.
How has the application been integrated within Aviko?
Aviko has been using the inspection module for some time. The application can be flexibly configured, allowing it to be used by any client and thus by Aviko with specific settings such as locations, departments, rights, users and templates. Because every company also has different wishes with regard to functionality, Normec Foodcare Online has a general budget available annually for further development of the existing modules. With this, customer specific wishes can be realized based on prioritization. The Corporate QA-QC Manager explains:
"Together with Normec Foodcare Online we looked at the application of the module within Aviko, after which improvement points and wishes were inventoried. From this an action list was compiled for the implementation of various modifications. The ongoing cooperation with jointly coordinated improvement initiatives has led to a logical structure and layout of the application for Aviko. This collaboration and Normec FoodcareOnline's willingness to make modifications to the application when requested by the customer is very valuable to Aviko. It gives confidence in the future with a system that continues to develop continuously."
Inspections with the iPad are performed by quality staff at all locations in the Netherlands. "Our quality staff experience conducting the audit with an iPad as pleasant, efficient and a logical future-oriented improvement. The automatically generated report and method of handling actions provides standardization and acceptance within Aviko. The module is tailored to the need to digitize inspections and audits according to the plan-do-check-act system. It offers us a clear structure that is easy to use," says the Corporate QA-QC Manager. "With the online QA software, it is easier to combine audits so that they can be planned and performed simultaneously. In fact, the system is applicable for all inspections as far as they can be performed with a standardized inspection list," concludes the Corporate QA-QC Manager.
