Solution for better quality assurance
Prior to the digitization of the quality manual and inspections, Wijnen Square Scrops worked primarily with Word and Excel documents on hard disk. Annsophie talks about the old way of working: "The system became less and less clear and at a certain point it was no longer optimally secured. We noticed that efficiency and search options, for example, were lacking. So we started looking for a way to improve this with a digital solution. When I saw the demo presentation on your QA software, I was sold immediately. It was exactly what we needed. The software is easy and clear. It also offers all the features we wanted with regard to version control, search functions, document verification and you name it."
At least 50% time savings
By digitizing the quality manual and inspections, the company has saved a considerable amount of time because of the more efficient way of working. "Keeping, modifying and adding information is so fast now. For example, I no longer have to keep separate lists when I have changed something or formulate new versions. The application does all that for me automatically. We have definitely saved 50% time for both document management and inspections," explains Annsophie.

Good guidance
Implementing the modules took some time in the beginning. Annsophie explains that partly because of a clear plan of action, this went completely smoothly. "Every implementation of new software of course takes time, but because of the clear plan of approach from Normec Foodcare Online, we already had a very good idea of how we wanted everything set up during the preliminary phase. Because of the good guidance in this, we could quickly get to work with the transfer of old documentation." Although our support department is available daily for clients in case of questions, Wijnen Square Crops has hardly ever contacted this department in recent years. "It is just obvious to us how to work with this software," adds Annsophie.
Food Safety Culture
The move to digital quality management has brought about quite a change within the organization. Annsophie talks enthusiastically about this: "We notice that a broader support for quality assurance has arisen within our organization, because the system is so user-friendly and therefore accessible to all employees. The employees now dive into the system themselves, ask questions about it and make suggestions for improvement. As Quality Coordinator, I keep the overview and give direction. We are now more jointly responsible for quality." According to Annsophie, the modern working method in which employees are allowed to perform inspections using an app on the iPad also fits in much better with the relatively young team working within the organization. "It makes performing inspections fun for the employees and I notice that in doing so, the depth also increases."
Very satisfied
At the moment, the modules being used fully meet the company's needs. "I can only say that we are very satisfied with working with Normec Foodcare Online. And I would also like to spread this to other companies. For example, last week we had a visit from another company in the region so they could see how we work with the software and what it has done for us. I think it is important that other companies also know what possibilities there are with this software," Annsophie concludes with a smile on her face.
