About us

Normec Foodcontrol offers specialized inspection and control solutions for every link in the food production chain. Two large laboratories are located in Wetteren: a microbiological laboratory for bacteriological investigations and a chemical laboratory for the analysis of nutritional values, allergens and other chemical components. In our laboratory, we combine practice with precision to guarantee the quality of products from the beginning of the chain.

Founded in 1991 as Meat Control, Food Control originated from the quality department of a company in the meat industry. As the years went by, more and more other companies in the food sector had microbiological analyses performed by the lab; as a result, the name Meat Control no longer covered the load. The name change to Food Control was then a logical step. Since then, the lab has expanded further and performs both microbiological and chemical analyses on food, animal feed, water, animal by-products and manure.

To be able to continue to grow in the future, all strengths are combined and the step has been made to join Normec Foodcare.
