Dumea about Normec Dumea

Normec Dumea and Dumea are two separate organizations that both operate in the agricultural sector. Normec Dumea specializes in conducting manure, soil, crop and water research. The names are similar because of their shared history. "Both parties have had to deal with several acquisitions, but we both chose to keep our name for reasons of recognizability," explains Remco Woertman, co-owner of Dumea since 2021. "Our customer base, sampling and consulting services fit seamlessly with the specialized and reliable analyses that Normec Dumea performs."

The intensive cooperation between Dumea and Normec Dumea

Remco explains, "Of course there is sometimes confusion among our customers because of the similar name, but because of our intensive cooperation this never causes problems. We are well attuned to each other. Manure analyses are seasonal. If the weather is nice, everyone wants a manure analysis at the same time. To spread the workload more, Normec Dumea looked for a party that could also supply other samples such as water, feed and soil. Our customer group perfectly matched this demand and this is how our cooperation came about," Remco says. What does the cooperation look like in practice? Dumea is responsible for sampling, Normec Dumea for performing the analyses in the laboratory. These analysis results then go back to Dumea. At Dumea they work with the parameters and calculate the additional results, for example the feed values, using formulas. Then the customer receives a comprehensive report including advice.

About Dumea

Dumea is an environmental and agricultural research company. They dive into the composition of soil, soil, crop, manure and water. Dumea has most customers in arable and livestock farming. But they also tap into new audiences where environment and agriculture come together. So they continue to develop and help all their customers to provide insight and advice.

Strengthening each other

The cooperation between Normec Dumea and Dumea is completely aligned. For example, exchange protocols have been developed so that the software fits together seamlessly. All samples taken by Dumea have a barcode. This barcode is scanned at Normec Dumea in the laboratory. It is then immediately clear which actions and analyses are needed. The results automatically come back to Dumea. Remco says: "This way it is nice to work together. We know what to expect from each other and because of this we strengthen each other. For example, we also sit around the table together during discussions with the government. Part of this is about the laws and regulations surrounding analyses, for which Normec Dumea is responsible. But also a part about sampling. As a result, we both provide input and knowledge on our own expertise."

Fast reliable results

"It is not a static cooperation," Remco emphasizes. "Needs and techniques change. This really works both ways. We continuously keep each other informed." The cooperation between Normec Dumea and Dumea is based on consultation and adaptation. The dynamic partnership allows both organizations to respond quickly to changing requirements and techniques. Remco is very pleased with the cooperation, "The investigations at Normec Dumea are fast and provide reliable results that we can build on. If there is something, we discuss it. We work together to provide customers with accurate results with which they can really do something. So that customers are satisfied and keep coming back."

Success and vision for the future

On an annual basis, Dumea processes about 10,000 crop analyses, 10,000 soil samples and several thousand water and manure samples. Each analysis covers at least 10 to 15 parameters. "The demand for analyses continues to intensify," Remco notes. "Farmers want to know more and more in order to optimize and steer. The future in the agricultural sector is uncertain, but the demand for analyses continues to grow." Dumea has been working hard for their future in recent years. They moved from Ootmarsum to a new office in Saasveld and launched a completely new corporate identity including logo and website. "We are ready for the future and continue to develop to offer our customers the best service," concludes Remco. "The cooperation with Normec Dumea fits in perfectly with that."
