Solution for Better Quality Assurance
Prior to digitizing the quality manual and inspections, Wijnen Square Crops primarily worked with Word and Excel documents stored on the hard drive. Annsophie describes the old way of working: “The system was becoming increasingly disorganized, and at a certain point, it was no longer possible to ensure optimal quality control. We noticed that efficiency and search capabilities, for example, were lacking. So we started looking for a way to improve this with a digital solution. When I saw the demo presentation about your QA software, I was actually sold right away. It was exactly what we needed. The software is easy to use and well-organized. It also offers us all the features we need in terms of version control, search functions, document verification, and you name it.”
At least a 50% time savings
By digitizing the quality manual and inspections, the company has achieved significant time savings thanks to the more efficient workflow. “Updating, modifying, and adding information is so much faster now. For example, I no longer have to keep separate lists when I’ve made a change or create new versions. The application does all of that automatically for me. We’ve definitely achieved a 50% time savings for both document management and inspections,” explains Annsophie.

Good Support
Implementing the modules took a little time at first. Annsophie explains that, thanks in part to a clear implementation plan, the process went completely smoothly. “Of course, any new software implementation takes time, but thanks to the clear implementation plan from Normec Foodcare Online, we were already able to clearly map out how we wanted everything set up during the preliminary phase. Thanks to the excellent guidance we received, we were able to quickly get started transferring our old documentation.” Although our support department is available daily to assist customers with any questions, Wijnen Square Crops has hardly contacted this department in recent years. “It’s simply clear to us how to work with this software,” adds Annsophie.
Food Safety Culture
The transition to digital quality management has brought about a significant change within the organization. Annsophie speaks enthusiastically about this: “We’ve noticed that broader support for quality assurance has emerged within our organization because the system is so user-friendly and accessible to all employees. Employees now explore the system on their own, ask questions about it, and make suggestions for improvement. As Quality Coordinator, I maintain an overview and provide guidance. We’re now taking collective responsibility for quality.” According to Annsophie, the modern approach—in which employees can conduct inspections using an app on an iPad—is also much better suited to the relatively young team working within the organization. “It makes conducting inspections enjoyable for the employees, and I’ve noticed that the depth of their work has also increased.”
Very Satisfied
At the moment, the modules we’re using fully meet the company’s needs. “I can’t help but say that we’re very satisfied with working with Normec Foodcare Online. And I’d like to share this with other companies as well. For example, last week we had a visit from another company in the region so they could see how we work with the software and what benefits it has brought us. I think it’s important that other companies also know what possibilities this software offers,” Annsophie concludes with a smile on her face.
