As a producer of mustard, sauces, mayonnaise, and marinades, De Wijndragers operates in 26 countries. Its largest markets are in the Benelux, Germany, and Scandinavia. In mid-2008, the company came into contact with Normec Foodcare.

Short Lines of Communication

Normec Foodcare has locations throughout the country, including a branch in Zwolle. De Wijndragers is located on the same grounds as the Normec Foodcare branch in Zwolle. “The process is streamlined, flexible, fast, and decisive. Because Normec Foodcare has an office in the same office complex, communication is direct.”

Ter Huurne says he finds the collaboration pleasant. “Normec Foodcare is a go-to resource for us whenever we’re unsure. We can take all our questions and comments to the Quality Assurance project manager.” In addition to Quality Assurance services, De Wijndragers also utilizes other services provided by Normec Foodcare. Ter Huurne explains: “We use various services, such as the QA software and microbiological analyses. We’re very pleased with these! In the future, we may want additional support in verifying new and existing labels. We currently handle this in-house.”

BRC Certification

“We intended to have our company certified under BRC. A former employee of Normec Foodcare was an acquaintance of our former owner. That’s how we ended up working with Normec Foodcare,” says Milos ter Huurne, Production Manager at De Wijndragers. “We were looking to bridge the gap between theory and practice, gain knowledge of the regulations, and receive guidance for the BRC process.” Quality Assurance guided De Wijndragers through this process at the time and continues to provide support every year. The Quality Assurance consultant now supports De Wijndragers’ employees with the overall quality system and in the area of laws and regulations.
