The Close Collaboration Between Dumea and Normec Dumea
Remco explains: “Of course, there is sometimes confusion among our customers because of the similar names, but thanks to our close collaboration, this never causes any problems. We work very well together. Manure analyses are seasonal. When the weather is nice, everyone wants a manure analysis at the same time. To spread out the workload, Normec Dumea was looking for a partner that could also provide other samples, such as water, feed, and soil. Our client base is a perfect fit for this need, and that’s how our partnership began,” says Remco. What does the partnership look like in practice? Dumea is responsible for sample collection, while Normec Dumea performs the analyses in the laboratory. These analysis results are then sent back to Dumea. At Dumea, they analyze the parameters and use formulas to calculate additional results, such as feed values. The client then receives a comprehensive report that includes recommendations.

All samples collected by Dumea are labeled with a barcode. This barcode is scanned at Normec Dumea’s laboratory. This immediately clarifies which actions and analyses are required. The results are automatically sent back to Dumea. Remco explains: “This makes for a pleasant way to work together. We know what to expect from each other, and this allows us to strengthen each other’s work. For example, we also sit down together for meetings with government officials. Part of these discussions focuses on the laws and regulations surrounding the analyses, for which Normec Dumea is responsible. But another part focuses on the sampling process. This allows us both to contribute our input and knowledge based on our own areas of expertise.”

“It’s not a static partnership,” Remco emphasizes. “Needs and technologies are constantly changing. This really works both ways. We keep each other informed at all times.” The partnership between Normec Dumea and Dumea is based on consultation and adaptability. Success and Vision for the Future
On an annual basis, Dumea processes approximately 10,000 crop analyses, 10,000 soil samples, and several thousand water and manure samples. Each analysis includes at least 10 to 15 parameters. “The demand for analyses continues to grow,” Remco notes. “Farmers want to know more and more in order to optimize and make informed decisions. The future of the agricultural sector is uncertain, but the demand for analyses continues to grow.” In recent years, Dumea has worked hard to secure its future. They have moved from Ootmarsum to a new office in Saasveld and have launched a completely new corporate identity, including a logo and website. “We’re ready for the future and will continue to evolve to offer our customers the best service,” concludes Remco. “The partnership with Normec Dumea fits in seamlessly with that.”
