About us

Every day we test products, concepts and packaging or research the experiences, usage and buying behavior of consumers. This way you know exactly what is important to consumers and you increase the chances of your product on the market. To do this, we use various research methods, such as concept, product and packaging research.

For each research we always select the right consumer. Whether you want to gain insight into the needs of an average supermarket visitor or investigate the qualitative assessment of a particular target group - we have a panel with thousands of test subjects. Our test centers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany are fully equipped to conduct consumer surveys and sensory tests in a controlled environment. Our staff constantly monitors quality standards, from study design to export. Through our international network of validated partners, you can have your examinations and tests conducted throughout Europe.

Normec Foodcare introduces Full Product Scan

How does your product really perform? With our Full Product Scan you discover not only whether your product meets the technical requirements, but also how the consumer experiences it. Unique to this approach is the combination of laboratory measurements and sensory consumer research. You see not only what deviates, but also whether it affects the appreciation. The Full Product Scan combines laboratory measurements with sensory consumer research. We analyze parameters such as weight, texture, color, composition and moisture content. At the same time we study how consumers evaluate the product in terms of taste, smell, mouth feel and appearance. This unique combination delivers insights that go beyond standard specification checks.

Why sugar reduction only works when it tastes good

June 2 marks the start of "Een Week Gezonder" - an initiative of the Diabetes League that challenges Flemish people to make healthier choices for a week, with an emphasis on reducing added sugars. For food companies, there is a huge opportunity here: although consumers want to eat healthier, they are still guided by taste in their choices. So sugar reduction is more than just a recipe adjustment. It is a taste technical challenge. And you can only win this challenge with the help of the consumer.

Sensory research abroad

Introducing a product abroad is a big step for many. Each country has different needs or desires when it comes to nutrition. Therefore, a sensory test in the country in question can give more insights into whether the product also has a chance of success among this new group of consumers. Normec Sensory (part of Normec Foodcare) is specialized in conducting research abroad. This prevents searches for a suitable research agency abroad and preserves the familiar way of reporting.

Why sensory testing plays an indispensable role in product development

In the food industry, there are numerous reasons for starting a product development process. In general, there are three main reasons, which are either necessary or desirable: to develop a new product, to develop and produce an existing product (e.g., a private label product) and to modify and/or optimize a product.

We are part of the Normec Group.

Normec is a leading organization in the TICC (Testing, Inspection, Certification, Compliance) industry. Our field of work ranges from (drinking) water quality, air quality and soil quality to fire safety, food safety and management systems. Every day we work on a safe and healthy working and living environment. For this and future generations.
