Fruit Logistica

For Normec Foodcare, this event is the perfect opportunity to showcase our wide range of services. With certifications, inspections, residue analyses, training programs, QC software, store assessments, and product comparisons, we serve the entire supply chain: from grower to importer and from wholesaler to retailer and consumer. Colleagues from Normec Maas Goodacre, Normec QC One, Normec Innovative Fresh, and Normec Groen Agro Control were in attendance—even from our location in Peru! It was a great mix of experienced professionals who ran into many familiar faces and new colleagues getting their first impressions of the dynamic fresh produce industry.

In addition to the many visitors at our booth, our colleagues also visited countless other booths, caught up with existing contacts, and made new connections—even with parties we hadn’t expected to meet.

How do you know if consumers accept your sugar reduction or protein fortification?

Consumers are looking for healthier, protein-rich, and more sustainable products, but they still base their choices primarily on taste and sensory experience. That makes reformulation complex. Sugar, for example, affects more than just sweetness; it can also alter texture, mouthfeel, and body. Added protein can be nutritionally beneficial, but it can sometimes result in a drier texture or an unusual aftertaste. A similar risk applies to fat reduction, clean label initiatives, and other formulation adjustments.
